The world of 3' x 5' mats seems endless, like pillows or cute dishes; there are so many affordable, workable options to choose from that it's best to go for something with personal significance or gut feeling alone (as opposed to a table, where you might be constrained by space, or an 8' x 10' rug, where price can significantly narrow the options).
But this mat found its way to the top of the pile for us. Bright red with graphic white lines nearly vibrate with energy, and we appreciate the versatility presented by the heavyweight coated canvas — as artwork on the wall or workhorse to cover an ugly patch on the floor, the $150 price tag feels about right.

Wow, I wish I had that mat when I pulled up the carpet in an old apartment to discover a weird plywood patch where a fireplace had once been.
That would have been perfect. Oh well, I moved outta there anyway...
