We were debating whether this should be treated as a Color Chips post, seeing as someone could easily use this rug by Peace Industry as their inspiration for decorating a whole apartment.

We love the contemporary design juxtaposed with the traditional technique used to create the piece- all Peace Industry rugs are created in Iran using an ancient, fairly obscure method which you can read about on their website. The rugs are constructed of felt and vegetable dyes, the combination of which will, remarkably, cause the rug to soften and the colors to brighten over time. Sounds good to us (and our feet).
Available at Peace Industry.
This rug is more than a bit close in concept to Josef Albers' color theory work entitled "Homage to the Square." Do some research on that and you will see an almost infinite amount of color combinations. Albers was a master and an original. See more here: http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/geab/ho_1972.40.7.htm

These are beautiful, but really, really expensive.

Yup, recognized the Albers, so would that qualify as a "rip-off" as people were discussing in the other posts about what Target has, like their Reno chairs that are visually like the Panton chairs.
For folks diggin' the look, but not the price, head over to FLOR and look at the Fedora felt-like carpet tiles, and make your own Homage:
