Store-in-a-Store: Branch Home at Eco Citizen

41809branchhome1.JPGWe’ve never heard of an online-only retailer setting up a temporary in-the-flesh location, but for the month of April only, San Francisco-based sustainable design shop Branch Home has done it. Partnering with Eco Citizen, a styley little boutique on Russian Hill, they’ve set up a store-within-a-store, offering a limited selection of their favorite green products. This past weekend, in pre-celebration of Earth Day, we had a chance to check it out…

The store-within-a-store carries some of our favorite Branch Home offerings, like the pink felt “table slice” trivets and rosebud felt bowl.

Gayla Rosenfeld’s pillows, made of woven reclaimed ultrasuede, are incredibly soft… we were glad for the chance to try them out in person! Sometimes online shopping just isn’t nearly as satisfying as the real thing.

If you don't live around here, Branch online is always worth a look—and if you do, head over to Eco Citizen (1488 Vallejo Street, at Polk) before the month is through to peruse the Branch collection. A portion of the profits goes to Friends of the Urban Forest, so you'll be supporting sustainable efforts in more ways than one.
