Meredith wrote in to tell us about an event in Seattle this weekend. The first Urban Craft Uprising, held in November 2005, had more than 50 vendors from all over the Northwest showing their "fun, fresh, and funky urban crafts" to over 4,000 fans. This year they plan on 100+ vendors from all over the country.
To be honest, we're a little torn about listing crafts events because often the crafts aren't related to home design. But the DIY indie craft movement has become huge (you've seen two of its stars on AT:SF -- Lisa Congdon and Alicia Paulson), and we enjoy seeing new, hip designers.

I went yesterday and it was amazing! Over 100 vendors and 90% of them have drool worthy items for sale.
And don't worry, there are plenty of things that relate to the home there :)
hi leslie,
thanks for posting the craft fair info! i hope it encouraged some seattle people to attend. i was there saturday when it opened (a huge line around seattle center) and spent a good 2-1/2 hours browsing and holiday shopping.
if you missed it, check out the monthly version of iheartrummage (http://www.iheartrummage.com/) at the crocodile café.
