Mark your calendars: The "One in Ten" auction kicks off this Sunday, August 19. Plenty of lovely handcrafted artwork and home accessories will be up for bidding. The list of participating designers and artists includes San Francisco's Lisa Congdon and Portland's Alicia Paulson.
So what does "One in Ten" mean?
In June, artist Eireann Lorsung's mother suffered an aneurysm rupture. Acccording to the doctors, only one in ten people survive this. Proceeds from the auction, which features donated goods from friends in the handmade community, will help pay some of her mother's medical bills.
We've got our eye on the wool pillow by PortlandMinneapolis-based Uniform Studio, but we have a feeling we aren't alone.
