Sunset Magazine Prop Sale

6-4-sunset.jpg6-4-sunset2.jpg
For everyone who's ever seen a magazine project they've wanted but not actually wanted to make themselves, this weekend is your lucky break. Sunset Magazine will be selling off both editorial projects (like the CD jewel case displays above) and items from their prop closet at this weekend's Sunset Celebration Weekend.

Sunset says that items will be "priced to go" and that proceeds from the sale will benefit San Francisco non-profit Friends of the Urban Forest.

Sunset Celebration Weekend runs June 7-8 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Sunset Headquarters in Menlo Park. For more information see Sunset's website.

What is it about the term "prop closet" that just makes me smile? Wish I could go.

Why can't Martha Stewart Mag. do this?

Because she has a PROP LIBRARY. It's a warehouse. Huge warehouse. Everything was all cataloged, they get checked out and back in. I saw it on an MS episode when at my mom's house.

Prop library! Prop library! Yeah, that tops prop closet.

And for some reason I'm remembering a girl I met once who worked on movie sets, they called her a "prop tart".
