3-4-alessi logo.jpgThe renowned Italian manufacturer Alessi only has a few shops in California and we're happy one is in San Francisco. Although the prices are a little too high for us, we can't deny that Alessi makes housewares fun. Alessi commissions some of the best and brightest international designers, engineers, and architects (think Zaha Hadid) to create (usually) stainless steel designs that make us want to rethink our career choices (should we have gone to culinary school?) so that we could better accommodate their products into our kitchens and dining rooms.

We don't know what half of the above items are, but we'd really like to see them in our kitchen!

We fell in love with the top shelf's selection of wine bottle openers. Prices ranged from $79 to $149.

Alessi is also a great resource for stainless steel flatware. We've got our eyes on a set designed by Jasper Morrison.

We loved the funky mushroom-esque shape of these stainless steel and wenge wood pieces! The cat bowls helped start the conversation: "When will Alessi reinvent the fish tank?" Our aquatic friends need love too.

This is probably one of the funniest toilet paper holders we've seen in awhile. It was priced at $62.

How random. I had never heard of this place and wandered into one in Old Pasadena on Sunday. They've got some really cool stuff! I was digging the light fixtures, the crumpled trash can and one of the wine racks that I've seen on Moca online.
