6-9-08givenmain.jpg6-9-given logo.jpgThis past weekend we were very happy to stumble into Given, a casual and hip home furnishings and accessories store. The shop is on the smaller side, but still manages to pack a punch. The walls are lined with tastefully designed geometric storage to display their tabletop items, lamps, and other accessories while the overall space is separated by sofas and tables. The beautiful red walls make you feel warm and fuzzy once inside. But our favorite part? The prices. The above sectional was priced at $2,400. Considering the size, color options, and lead time (4-6 weeks!), we think that's a screamin' deal.

One of our favorite items were these silicone placemats. There were plenty of different designs to choose from. The placemats were between $18 and $20, and the map plates were $55.

6-9-08givenext1.jpgWhile our friends were gawking at all the eye candy you could purchase, we were gawking at the beautiful mural that one of the employees had painted onto the wall.

6-9-08givenext2.jpgIn addition to all the adult furniture, Given also has stuff for the kids. This set was $450.

6-9-08givenext3.jpgThese vases (and perhaps a carafe in the back?) were our favorite. We just love how playful they are! The pieces range from $50 to $68.

It's refreshing that the Castro has something besides porn shops and burrito stands now.

I saw - and fell for - Dana Robson's (aquarabbit) work there in December while Christmas shopping.

$2,400 is a steal?

I have been working with the folks at this shop since late last year, and just can't say enough about what a joy they've been to work with. I've worked with a lot of shops, but these guys (Nick esp!) are so sweet and easy to work with... a real pleasure.
