muzzyslogo7-14.jpgAfter seeing the apartment we're featuring in next week's House Tour, we felt inspired. It reminded us that there are great finds in thrift and consignment shops, flea markets, even sometimes on the street. So off we went to Muzzy's Attic.

muzzysposter7-14.jpgTucked away in the Outer Richmond, Muzzy's Attic sells secondhand furniture, rugs, art, and home accessories like ceramics, tableware, and linens. While items used to be spread out over two floors, they're now all crammed into one small ground-floor space. The shop is not for someone who wants a streamlined shopping experience with everything neatly arranged in vignettes. This is a place that invites serious rummaging and moving things around to see what's behind them.

muzzysteapot7-14.jpgSince items are sold on consignment, you never know what you'll find. While most things were more antique-y than modern, we did find a few items that were appealing, and they were, mostly, reasonably priced: a table ($100), a vintage French poster ($900), a teapot ($20), a vintage metal soapdish ($6), a simple white tray ($20), a letter "N," a wooden shoe last.

muzzystable7-14.jpgThe website is essentially a placeholder at this point, but the proprietor told us that she hopes to improve it soon.
