DWR Beeboard Desk - $100
San Francisco Scavenger

This Beeboard desk from DWR was designed by Piet Boon as an ecologically low-impact solution for the home office. Crafted out of layered cardboard and finished with an acrylic finish, this desk has a truly unusual look. This particular piece has been used and has some significant wear, but its price reflects the damage done.

In my experience, cardboard isn't great for heavily used furniture. I bought a Gehry Wiggle stool a few months ago, and it's already showing signs of rough use. Kids and guests just don't realize it's fragile. I'd only get the cardboard desk if I were sure no one would ever put anything heavy or spill coffee on it. It's just not a forgiving material.
