In honor of Gardening Month, we thought we'd feature this great Black concrete Buddha head statue *perfect for outside in the Garden.
The Buddha's expression is so peaceful, it would add a bit of serenity to someone's urban oasis.

Just as I thought, Buddha heads will soon be the next pink flamingo, the garden elf of our time. Everywhere I turn, everyone is selling Buddha heads. I wrote a blurb about the irony of commercialized Buddha statues on my blog

I want that Buddha head! Too bad it's 3000 miles away. Can you image the shipping costs on that thing?!
Personally I could never be comfortable with using a religious item of a faith not my own as a piece of random eclectic decor.
It reeks of appropriation to me, personally. I would feel very poser-ish and imagine the reactions of active believers as similar to my reactions to Madonna's kabbalah phase: 50% laughable 50% disgusting.
