Why is everyone getting rid of their West Elm links rugs?! i'm so happy with the one i got from craigslist...and the shedding has finally stopped.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't have this rug but love the way that it looks. Most rugs shed a bit at first, no?
Rugs can be tricky, sometimes you can't get a feel for the right rug until you actually see it in your living space. Maybe it is just people changing their minds. If they don't live near a West Elm store perhaps it is easier to sell it on Craigslist than to try to return it.

I have this rug too and still have the shedding problem! But it's so cute that I don't mind it that much; I de-shed/hand vac about as often as I would need to for little crumbs and other crap that falls on it. This is the first time I've had hardwood floors, and hence the need for big rugs, so I'm glad you guys pointed out that most rugs shed. Can anyone recommend the best way to clean up the shedding? I have had it with little hand vacs, don't want to buy a full-size vacuum when I have wood floors--I have been tempted by the old-fashioned push kind at Cost Plus--would that solve my problem?

Y'know, I have never had a rug introduce itself by shedding, and it's not because I'm buying really high-end rugs. They're not supposed to shed.

It is, unfortunately, possible to buy a vacuum that's too cheap. I'd look at Target before I'd look at Cost Plus -- and I'm not super-happy with what we bought at Target. Cost Plus's quality seems to drop dramatically once the item is bigger than a bread box.
