When we hear "ottoman" we think tufted, rectangular, maybe tweed (who knows why). This one blows all our preconceptions out of the water.

The frame is bamboo and the fabric is hemp, both of which are rapidly-renewable natural resources. Also only non-toxic adhesives are used and non-VOC oil. What's not to love? Well, it's $1,200. But it comes in white and gray, and has a pretty Matisse-style bird motif on top, so... maybe?
Available through Vivavi.
Gorgeous. Out of my price range, but definitely gorgeous.

Ok, so now I'm thinking - drum shell, bamboo runner wrapped around, and DIY upholstery. ;o)

I understand quality furniture is the way to go. My living and dining room furniture are from Maurice Villency but I would never purchase an overly price ottoman. 1 grand for something you can only place your feet or a small butt on.
