Minnie Stool from PB Teen

7-11-08 pb stools.jpgAre we going crazy? Perhaps... but we're kind of seriously drawn to these stools. The colors - all wrong. The rug in the photo - we'll pass. But the lines of the stool - heaven help us, we like it.

Change the fabric, maybe even paint the legs, and these would work with a desk or vanity, or in a closet or bedroom. Our main problem is that it's $229 for a product we'd have to put some time and even more money into, so is it worth it? For now we're going to keep our eyes peeled at Alameda to see if something similar is easy to find. We're willing to admit that we might have been struck by a case of the Urban Sombrero... we're sure you'll tell us if we have.

I love those!
They remind me of those mint pastille candies , the creamy ones.

The rug however is not so groovy.

When I was completely making ottomans and stools, I came across the frames for these somewhere, hmmm.......to the archives!

I am redoing a small dressing table now and need a cute stool to park myself on while I primp and preen (me? ha!)

These are adorable - in a different color perhaps - but that price is outrageous.

Anybody have a good source on cute dressing table (or not) stools? I'm checking Craigs daily, Overstock and all the usual suspects... I was also thinking something acrylic would look smashing as the table is getting the chrome treatment!

Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated!

This is my problem with PB teen. For some reason, they have this idea that teen aged girls only like things that come in the colors of Tums. I wish they'd introduce some non-pastels.

Actually, I think the colours of the stools could work — just not together as shown. Each of them could probably look quite nice with a judicious use of grey (cool grey with blue, or warm grey with any of the three). The pink and blue ones could even work with certain browns, maybe.

The rug? Welll, that one's best swept under the...em...rug...

Shall I be the first to say it? I think I have to go with the crazy on this one.

Charming little stools! Overpriced. But it's a piece that would be used forever. My mother, who was the most practical woman in the whole world, sat on a pretty little stool like these every day of her life for more than 60 years. I couldn't wait to get one of my own.

What are you talking about??? Those colors are great! (Although I agree with thewolley: maybe not all three together.)

The colours were fashionable ten years ago.

The rug looks like it was made by Damien Hirst.

CaseyB, Tums is right on! Why does PBTeen have these colors season after season??? Where are the bright oranges??? The lime greens??? Something ANYTHING funkier than these sad pastel colors in every catalog would be nice. And the wood is always antique white too, like every teen girl is into shabby chic or something.

Is it just me or does the upholstery on the pink one look shoddy?

I dig these, and I even like the colors. The price is just ridiculous though.

My first impression was a sweet cake, I like these Modern Furniture's colors. I would usa the blue one in my bedroom.

I love these, but then I do love pink and pastels. I'd buy one or two, at up to $50--but not the price they want for these. Anyone know of something similar for a reasonable price? (I'd love it if the Barcelona chairs/stools came in pink!)

JCPenny has something similar, at a much lower price. Needs paint and reupholstery, but it's almost cheap enough to justify the purchase:
