Rou Pouf

Sitting on the floor keeps your joints limber and your outlook more playful. It's also casual, convivial, and solves the extra seating problem.

If you're not a floor person, plunking yourself down on the floor (or the anticipation of having to raise yourself back up) might be more enticing if there was a stylish ottoman waiting to receive your derrière partway down.

For its subtle glamor and sexy French-Morrocan accent we nominate the leather and silk-embroidered Rou Pouf. It comes in many other colors but we're partial to the monochromatic gold.

$120 at Hayes Valley's Tazi Designs.

Anyone have tips on how best to stuff these. I have 3 beautiful ones that I brought back from a trip home to Nigeria last year, but they sit empty and deflated. Could use old clothes, but my sister did that and they just go flat when you sit on them. Um, I live in NYC so local SF resources probably won't get me far, but general tips would be most helpful! Thanks.

I heard that back in morocco they stuff them with plastic bags.

You can try buckwheat, flax ... I think there's a resource for this type of a thing. I just don't know where to look.
