The obsession with (era) German-born, Swedish Modernist
Josef Frank's intricately-detailed textiles is spreading. First there were the reissued textiles and upholstered pieces from
Svenkst Tenn, hard to get your hands on in the States, then there were Anthropologie's upholstered pieces, like the
Jayne sofa, and we just noticed that these new bent birchwood stools from Margot Barolo and Mrta Friman, are available through
Just Scandinavian in NYC.
The pared-down lines of the three-legged stool are a perfect foil for Frank's delicate and riotous Hawaii print.
(Another candidate for the high end of our top ten stools list.)
Available here for $650. Or make your own bargain version by ordering some Hawaii yardage (roughly $100/yard) and making a new cushion for an old stool or chair.
