Hudson Chair

hudson5-31.jpgWhile Philippe Starck's Icon chair may be seriously sexy, his Hudson chair is both sexy and practical.

In the polished version, that is.

The Hudson's not quite as minimal and sculptural as the Icon -- but the back looks more supportive and comfortable for those long candlelit dinners.

Originally designed for Ian Schrager's Hudson Hotel in New York, the Hudson was selected as one of the Top 100 Designs in 2000 by the Chicago Athenaeum, and won the Good Design Award.

The highly polished aluminum version puts a spin on Emeco's classic 1944 Navy chair. Imagine it in a dark dining room with candlelight reflecting off it. That's sexy.

$1,238 at DWR.
