SF Good Questions: Where Can I Find These Chairs?

AT:SF, I am sure AT readers can help answer this question: who designed these chairs (the turquoise ones) in the latest Anthropologie catalog and where can I get them? Thanks!! -Gina

From the little we can see, these chairs look like Danish Modern ones we see quite frequently on Craigslist. Does anyone have more information?

yes, they look vintage and it shouldn't be too hard to find something similar. Try Alameda flea market.

I bought chairs like this -- very similar -- on Ebay. I don't know who made them but they say "made in Denmark" on the bottom so they're probably Danish Modern.

i believe those are hans wegner dining chairs.
the best thing to do is go to ebay and search danish modern or hans wegner.
they do still sell this chair new at fritz hanson.
you can expect to pay around 700.00 a piece.

I bought chairs similar to this at X21 (mine are Hans Vagner) then this weekend found some almost identical at Community Thrift on Valencia between 17th and 18th. Their chairs normally run between $12.50 to $15. It's ssoo easy to reupholster with your average staplegun.

There's a $9.99 pair on eBay -- according to the listing, they were designed by Benny Linden of Denmark.

i bought two locally down here in sj off craigslist that look the same but have an upholstered backrest

mine said "farso stolefabrik" on them, which doesn't turn up anything in google other than an auction site in europe selling eight armchair versions in a language i can't read.

what i can't figure out is the ones i have don't have the side screw at the back rest - so how do you get the backrest off in order to reupholster it?

Farsø stolefabrik is Danish. Your chairs are Danish modern. I dont think you can take the backrest off, without risking breaking it. It was probably glued together. Danes speak good english, so if you find an email adress for the company, they might be able to tell you which chairs you have and if you can take them apart. Or contact a skilled wood maker and ask for help.

Im not sure any of them are Wegner chairs.

These look very similar to mine, which are by NO Moller. Definitely check out Klassik by Lynne as casiep suggested.
