Butterfly Chairs from Circa50

8-24-butterfly chair.jpg

Summer may be almost over in much of the country, but here in the Bay Area, it's really just starting.

And we're craving old school butterfly chairs. Not the collapsible versions, not the ones with padded cushions or vinyl covers, but the ones with sturdy steel frames and cotton covers. The ones you can leave outside and they rust and you don't care. The ones with the covers that become sunbleached and faded, and you can just whip them off and store them for the winter.

Cotton covers, $38-$58.

Chair frames, $175-$275.

At Circa50. (Or sometimes on Craigslist and eBay.)

(Thanks, Aline!)

One of my all time favorite chairs.... I wish I had the right place for one or two.

I have a fantastic brown leather one from my parents that will get passed along to my kid(s). I simply love sitting in and looking at it.
