Our problem with modern sofa beds (now that they've resolved the metal bar-sticking-in-your-back-while-you-sleep issue) has always been where to store the bedding. The Havana Sofa from DWR solves that dilemma nicely.
The seat base is also a full storage compartment. Ingenious.
On top of that, it has simple, minimal lines, comes in two great neutrals (oatmeal and brown), and is deep enough that you could sprawl on it for entire weekends.
Now if we could just win the lottery so that we could pay the $3,300 price tag.
(We mentioned it here last year. And it's also been suggested here and here in Good Questions on AT:NY.)
A cheaper, though not as stylish, sofa bed with storage for bedding can be found in Ikea's Fagelbo sofa bed. The price is $800 USD. It's not the softest seat for a sofa (firm foam), but a very comfortable bed. I had the pleasure of sleeping on one at a friend's place in Paris after a poor night's "rest" in a sleeping car coming from Barcelona.

answer for the less wealthy... ikea's tylosand sleep sofa. i have one and i LOVE it. it's not got storage underneath for linen, but it's super deep and cozy and the pull out bed pulls out lengthwise so it saves a ton of space.
check it out: $899

This is an example of a product that was a great, but didn't come off in the end. The storage feature is great, easy to access, and holds a considerable amount of linens. The way the back folds down on the piece is also quite nice.
However...
The back on this piece is brutally low. This would not be an issue, save that pillows which come with the piece are substantial enough to provide proper back support (they're just too soft). Something that cannot be said for the seat of this piece. This is firm. If not a little beyond firm.
Great lines and good look. But overall it misses the mark.
