We were browsing for mid-century modern chairs over the weekend and we came across these upholstery and painted cane chairs from the 1960s. While the whole package caught our eye, it was the fabric that we liked the most.

Chairs available from Sarlo Wick.
Nice chairs-but at that price they could have at least matched the stripes-
Looking closely-I think if they flipped them over for the shoot-it would have been a better match

I agree, for that price the seamstress could have matched the dang stripes!

If you look closely - the stripes were carefully aligned along the yellow centerline, including the front edge welts on the seat cushions and the top welt on the seat back - This is so that the seat cushion could be flipped over and the stripes would align seat to back on either side. This type of expert upholstery and attention to detail is seldom found today and helps to explain why these are $4100 for the pair.

I'm sorry-but the band should always match the top and bottom seat panels-on both sides
They need to work with the whole repeat and not just the center stripe..it takes more fabric, but at this price come on..
