Wingback Chair by Tom Dixon

Traditional, yet...not. Tom Dixon's Wingback Chair has mohair velvet upholstery (available in 15 colors) and a solid turned leg with black lacquered or natural finish. Yum. Take a look below the jump to see it in living color in London.

this looks like a mixture between a Jacobson Egg chair and wagnor popa bear chair. this still needs some work

caraliz : if this is the chair of your dreams , please start looking at some of the classic mid century design chairs of the 50'sa and 60's . I sure would hate to think you would sell out for this, as your dreams should be bigger and filled with better design .
best of luck

Irf- take a chill pill. Other people can like different furniture than you do.

Furthermore, both the Poppa Bear Chair and the Egg Chair are based on the classic Wingback chair, so perhaps the Poppa bear and the Egg and the Tom Dixon chair all look like their inspiration, not like each other.

Tom Dixon is a pretty well respected established designer. This isn't exactly some kid out of Risd with a dream and a staple gun.

Their is a lot of room in the world for new furniture. Let's not base our opinions of good design on what one can find between the pages of the Design Within Reach catalogue.

I think it's a pretty slick reinterpretation. I'm partial to black on black, too. Tom Dixon usually resonates with me, though. What did Picasso say about great artists?

I like it, but it needs more substantial legs. Or maybe longer legs. Something's odd with the proportion--and notice that there aren't any photos of it from the front or with someone sitting in it.
