SF Spring Cure: Week Four Check In

4-4-curelogo-1.jpg Week four is drawing to a close, and browsing through our flickr group we can see lots of big changes have been happening in all of the curer's homes lately. People seem to be pulling out of their week three slump and powering ahead - we are halfway done after all! While eight weeks can seem like a long time, at this point you should be seeing some major changes around your house that are hopefully already helping you to live healthier, more beautiful, more organized lives.

See below the jump to check out the progress of some of our other curer's . . .

For those of you who are curing - are you feeling differently about your homes?

We always notice a big change in the amount of time we want to spend at home when things are in order - when your home is a great place to be in, it makes you want to spend time there, as well as invest more energy into keeping it that way.

Any questions/concerns/achievements you want to share going into the weekend? Comment away!

Yes, totally! I want to be at home all the time. I want to lounge on my sofa and try as I might I can't sit in more than one sitting area at a time. My party is scheduled for the end of May -- and with a little luck the weather will be kind so that the party can extend to my newly rennovated garde. The bulbs are coming up, which bodes well for the rest of the bare-root babies I tucked in last fall.

Dining table arrives tomorrow. Curtains should have been delivered by UPS today. It's all coming together and I feel so pretty, quite pleased, and Yay!

Love, love the entryway, and I'm loving everyone's wall colors, too.

This may be a little premature, but when will the next cure be? I'm moving to a small two bedroom in my 1930s co-op in two weeks, so it didn't make sense for me to participate this time.

katedet, the group cure with AT has been happening in the spring and fall.

My week 4 has been slow in cure accomplishments because of our remodel project. We condensed all of our belongings into 2/3rds of our home this week. The plus side of this: it has been very motivating to purge, i.e.-- out with the SFGiants rubber chicken! We have gotten rid of so many things. Alas, there are many more items to sort through.

Cure tasks accomplished this week: 1) Media sorting and purging, 2) Outbox goods are now at the thrift store, 3) Fresh tulips in the house, 4) Many meals cooked at home including a lovely steamed spring pea recipe from 'The Joy of Cooking' which we served with grilled lamb.

I've been focusing on my bedroom and it's really starting to come together! I bought new bookshelves, so all of my books are up off the floor, which looked so messy. I also put in a lamp and a chair so that I now have a "reading corner." I read up there all the time now! I went through all my stuff and purged a BUNCH of clothes and old crap and now there's so much more space! For my bed I purchased new sheets, pillow covers to help with my allergies, and an new organic duvet and cover. I've been sleeping very well. Finally, I have open shelves in my room that used to be stacked with all these different shoe boxes. They were all put away, but it didn't look very nice. So, I went to the container store and got matching shoe boxes with pull down fronts for easy access. It looks fabulous! So neat and tidy! I love it! All I have left is to hang some artwork and buy some candles. I can't wait to see the finished room! It's been a lot of work but SO worth it!
