Easy To Use Shelf

3-14-easytouse.jpg

Stunning in its simplicity, Carlo Colombo's Easy To Use wall-mounted shelf is made of aluminum sheets with hinged tops.

We love it. And can easily see it in not just a bathroom, but as a bedside table, in a kitchen, in a home office, as a landing strip. . .

This is exactly what I need for a landing strip except a bit pricey at this point. Has anyone seen less expensive alternatives?

I was in love until I saw the price.

Agree with Anne. These look awsome and like something I was actually looking to find for my powder room.

Less expensive options are welcomed here too :-)

Am I missing something here? Wouldn't it be annoying to move all the things off your shelf when you wanted to access the inside? How about a shelf with a pull-out instead of a lift-up drawer. : D

I like the idea of having the lift up top for my landing strip to keep me from piling everything on top (thus unable to get in the things underneath) or just stuffing everything in a drawer. Sort of forcing me to keep my clutter in check. At least that is what I keep telling myselfÂ…

I almost bought that for my bathroom and then walking through IKA saw an extruded aluminum 4" shelf for 8 bucks (4 feet long I think). It doesnt open but I htink that would be a pain anyway. And god bless IKEA. It looks awesome. Similar look though not really that similar.

my exact thought juice. it would be very annoying to clear the top before i can access the content. but for a small space you don't a pull out either. it's a so so idea, terrible pricing.

HIgh potential, low achievement. What I'd like to see instead, for use as a landing strip, is something like this but with a drawer that's about twice as tall. It would still read "shelf," and in fact would function like a shelf without having to clear it; the drawer would be a more useful size; and it would still have a floating appearance. That price is insane.

Easy to use, hard to pay for.

Looks good, interesting concept--but I agree with previous commenters...why not a drawer?
