Here's an interesting take on the Nelson bench.
The Hendrix TV bench plays on the classic slatted wood design, giving it an aluminum base and a frosted glass top. It's $395 at Plummers. Unfortunately, their 10 stores are all in Southern California... Maybe we can talk Alec into telling us more about their quality, and whether the store is worth a little weekend drive?

Plummers is the same as Scandinavian Designs which has lots of stores in Nor Cal:

Did someone call? It looks like pwb figured out a way to "see for yourself", but since you asked Plummers is not a store we tend to go to, although we have used it for clients in need of home office furniture. The furniture seems perfectly well made so if you like the style of something Id imagine the quality is fine but I can't imagine it's worth a weekend drive
Unless you havent yet been to the H.D. Buttercup (!!).

Its the new-ish manutailer (for real) that is housed in the great old Helms Building in Culver City. The huge space carries lots of different venders. The best part is when youre done, theres still the Plumbers, a Civilization, and quite a few other good stores right around the corner to check out.
So, weekend trip for Plubers? No
Trip to the Helms Bakery and the rest? Go for it!
Hope that helped.

LA Brother Alec
err you could almost forgive the "plumbers", but "plubers"?!
Please Alec, Focus.
it's late. Sorry ;-)
i bought my couch at plummers. they surprisingly were the only ones around me that had the style of couch i wanted at the time. It's held up pretty good. I wouldn't do a drive down for it, if you live that far, but if someone has one local to them, its definitely a good option for a "drive by". Looks like pwb is right- Scandanavian designs looks like the exact same company... just different name- good catch!
