apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Key Holder with Tray from Tiny Living

7-17-landingstrip.jpg We're big believers in the landing strip - an area inside your front door where keys, mail, and other "outside world" objects live. That said, finding the space in a small apartment to dedicate to this task can be a challenge. This key holder with tray, however, is compact enough to fit in even the tiniest of entries.

Despite its tiny size (8.25"w x 1.5"d x 8"h,) it has everything you need - a place to put your keys and a tray big enough to hold mail and your cell phone or wallet. The fact that it's wall mounted allows you to stay organized without losing any precious floor space.
Available for $45 from Tiny Living.

Land strips are definitely a must. I have one similar to this but i use strong small magnets to hold my keys on the front of the letter holder part.

For you Torontonians, I got mine at High Tech on Front St.

We have the old version of this that doesn't have the tray. BTW, I think you should credit the manufacturer/designer. Blomus.

I have been looking for a "landing strip" for my condo, but this is a tad too minimal for my tastes... any other good suggestions??

I think this is a spot on solution. I also have a Delta SkyMiles horror story from this week. Oh well, that belongs on another blog...

Despite "its" not "it's". I sure wish AT would hire a proofreader for y'all.

I have been looking for something like this for eons. I only have 11" of width to work with for my wall mounted landing strip, and nothing, thus far, has been narrow enough. I always pined after the little teak floating shelves with the slide out drawers, BUT...they were always too wide.

I don't really understand how the key is staying in either. It that just a friction hold? Cuz my keychain makes me look like a janitor, and would not hold! :) Rare earth magnets with a hook would work....
