I don't like that style...way too hipster

Does anyone know where i can get a globe lamp like the one in the first image? I have always wanted one and i cant find them anywhere.

Sounds like a hidden treasure trove. How did you find it? I keep hearing about this mid century modern stuff. It seems to have really taken off!

That place is a hidden gem! Almost literally hidden, in fact. It's right on NW 21st by Irving, but it's easy to miss since it's down a flight of stairs. I probably walked by a million times before I noticed it. They always have great stuff.

Love love love this store! While their items can be in the upper range you can find deals too, I got a set of 6 walnut dining chairs there last year for less than 300. The owners are really helpful and friendly as well.

there seems to have been a boom in the portland mid-century retail sector.
I think I have been to all BUT portland modern. (i dont want to look for a parking spot)

but.. nothing compares to the bins.

I have eames chairs just like those (but probably not in nearly as good condition, as they served as kitchen chairs for many years in my grandma's house). Guess we shouldn't have stuck them in my aunt's barn :)

I got my light-up globe on ebay, $30 i think... you'd be suprised i see lots of them. They give off the most beautiful light.

That's not just any old Eames armchair shell. See the fibers in that fiberglass? That is a Zenith/Eames shell with rope edge circa 1949-50. Very early and fairly rare. These folks obviously know their stuff.
