What a clever bookcase/chair...
...but what else does it do?

I'm a little confused as to what you'd do with the acute angled side. Obviously not sit on it. Doesn't look wide enough for more books. Hm..

This was featured in my local paper a cou0ple of weeks ago. I've already got it bookmarked. I. must. have. it.

Structurally and aesthetically it is intriguing, however, I cannot envision sitting there for long engrossed in a book. Maybe with some very thick cushions...

Very pretty to look at, but doesn't look remotely comfortable to sit in...

The acute angled side is where the cat sits when it doesn't want to be in a lap.

Don't think of it as a reading chair -- mentally place it in a nook on your way out the door, where you sit down to put on your outdoor shoes, and the books you grab from underneath are what you're taking to work or returning to the library. Then it starts making more sense.

Arguably, chairs haven't been lacking shelves any more than shelves have been lacking chairs. Pairing them up feels kind of kitsch.

This is all moot though as that isn't one of Eric's finer ergonomic moments.
