AT:SF, I'm looking for a tv stand on large casters (wheels) preferably made of wood. I remember seeing this exact thing in DWR catalogues, but it seems to have disappeared. Does anyone have any idea where I can find something like this?

anae29,
A couple of years ago we were looking for one that was like a thick piece of wood with large casters. We never found it and were actually toying with the idea of making one... but got sidetracked and never did. We're not sure if that's what you had in mind, but if so, check out our Top 10: Funky Casters.
This post on Unplggd mentions several TV Stands (including the no-longer-available Min Media Stand from DWR) -- some of them could be set on casters.
Other ideas, anyone?
there is an industrial caster store on 17th between arkansas and connecticut (across the street from the connecticut yankee). if you want to diy. also ikea and room and board both stock wheeled pieces or ones that are easy to convert.

I bought one from Crate & Barrel about 3 years ago, dark wood with shelves on ends and one underneath, and big, smooth-rolling casters that lock. Can't remember the name, but maybe they still carry it. It was around $175.

Buy something you like, then get casters at http://www.coolcasters.com/. They have a great selection. I just bought a bunch of casters from them and they gave me great customer service when I had to return half of them and re-order a different style.

i bought this unit from Ikea for our new TV. We aren't using the casters though, we bought legs for it. It was just too good to pass up considering it was only $69.99 We like it. We put baskets on the bottom shelf for our DVDs. The best part is how narrow it is, so it works well in our tiny living room.

I bought a clearance buffet table from target. When we moved, the movers set the entire weight on the back legs when they were putting it upright. The legs snapped up. A trip to Lowe's and $20 later, I had a very nice looking entertainment stand. I drilled out holes in the back of the cabinet area for the cords to go through, attached the casters, and called it good. You can totally DIY something like this.

I just got the MUJI aluminum coffee table.

I'd hoped to use it to support a 32-inch flat screen TV, but it seems a little flimsy. The sales clerk at MOMA told me that a lot of customers use them as media stands and that she's never heard of them having problems. But now I'm having doubts.
Anyone have experience with this table as a TV stand?

I scoped out the Muji UK site, and my weight-question was answered there. Limit for the aluminum coffee table is 30 kg. That's just over 66 lbs.

A friend of mine went to a restaurant supply store (www.bowerykitchens.com) and got a heavy-duty stainless steel table top, custom-sized for his 42" TV, and they were willing to cut the legs to order. He later went back and got a second one with shorter legs, no casters, and an additional, lighter-weight anodized aluminum lower shelf to use as a coffee table.
