The Clearly Glam Box

10-23-08shoeorgan.jpgHere at AT, we're big fans of any product that helps us stay organized. When we came across the Clearly Glam Box, we fell in love. Not only is it practical, but it's also made out of recycled PET: Polyethylene terephthalate. Why's that important? It helps protect our environment. Making recycled PET burns less fuel, adds less waste to our landfills and uses less natural resources during its production.

Umm, I think it's called the "Clearly" Glam box, not "Cleary".

Just because the plastic's recycled, I'm afraid that doesn't make it any less ugly!

i think these are beautiful AND functional. That little finger hole for pulling them off the shelf is key.

I think it's funny how they only put a single shoe in each box.

BTW, did anyone else think those shoes look like silver and gold jock straps?

Hmm. Color me unconvinced. They're just boxes. My shoes are not that pretty! And I hope you can fit at least two in each box.

Things that go in the closet shouldn't have to be pretty anyway. $10 per box, though, well. I don't know how much regular plastic boxes cost. Seeing what's inside the boxes is the functional part, plus the hole. I keep my shoes on a rack mounted inside the closet door so I don't have any use for it. I like how photography and lighting tricks are supposed to make a clear plastic box "glamorous."

filled with real life stuff (and not just one is-it-a-shoe-or-a-jockstrap per box) they will look unglamourously cluttered. functional, but not really a revelation.

No, I don't think the shoes look like jockstraps; having said that, these boxes are obviously not designed with men's shoes in mind. In fact, most plastic shoe boxes are not designed for men's shoes.

Here's another example of playing-up the "green factor."

It's still a plastic box for your shoes.

Why not just keep the original box and put a pic on it or something?
