We love fresh flowers. And we're big fans of flowers that last a long time. Daisies, for one. Alstroemeria, for another. Witness this test by Monica at Sunset. Two weeks later, the flowers were going strong. Via: Home by sunset

Alstromeria have lots of color combinations as well as being long lasting. A fresh cut of the stems every third day helps them drink, picking off wilted leaves/blossoms and keeping the water fresh all extend time in the vase.

If you have tight buds that you want open use very warm water in the vase. If you have stinky flowers (like baby's breath) a little bleach in the water will kill the odor. Copper in the vase will cause tulips to stand up straight.
