We're so glad that we're not the only ones who love Maira Kalman. She has a real cult following, and we're more than happy to see her illustrations anywhere, even in a catalog. Via: Modern Craft

montreal modern, I couldn't agree more. I just went to the new CB2 store in Soho -- what is the big deal, please tell me? 95% of their products are made in China, which I say enough to already and overall, I found it incredibly uninspiring, a mass produced look and b.l.a.n.d.

yes unfortunately money seems to talk(ie sponsors)-way too much CB2 and West Elm on AT these days-how about supporting local entrepreneurs and north American manufacturers and designers!

Hey, we love Maira Kalman and would have written about her no matter what the catalog (note all the Related Posts)!
We blog what we like (and not because of advertising or sponsorship), which means we blog local entrepreneurs/designers/manufacturers, as well as companies that may be more accessible to some readers. Mixing it up is good! Check out our archives to see more mixed-up stuff (and, of course, if you have any suggestions for local people for us to blog, send them our way)!
