Slinks: Bookcase Into a Bed

There’s convertible and then there’s convertible. This bookcase transforms into a bed; or rather, the bed wraps around wall-mounted display boxes when not in use. Of all the dual uses of a bed — or a bookcase, for that matter — we never would have hit upon this. We’d go for different fabric, though. Via: Yanko Design

It's a pretty amazing idea. I'd use a fairly tightly quilted fabric to eliminate this sort of wrinkling.

I wonder why the designer chose not to use wood or veneer to get rid of that wrinkled look

I think the biggest problem I see about this, is that the bed could be very uncomfortable. All of those sections that are "cut" would have to be reinforced and it just seems like the bed would be rigid in some spots, mostly right in the middle of your back.

It is an ingenious idea, if it is comfortable. If it is for every day use, I would hate to have to make my bed from scratch each day.
