Absolutely beautiful. My favorite part is the stairs...the way they taper to form a slender wedge is perfect.
I also loved the "white island" concept but can just imagine how many times I'd trip carrying a tray of food from the kitchen to the table down that little 4" drop.

the "island" is likely more for practicality than pure design concept. a converted loft is unlikely to have all the water and electrical hookups necessary for kitchens and so to get a sink or outlets into an island or just across the space, they'll raise the floor a bit to let it all run through.
