Great use of color, art, and editing restraint. Not sure about the bedspread, but that's just my eye.

The colors make me happy - as well as the mix of vintage and new. (I haven't seen one of those kitchen stool/steplader things in years, much less in Red!)

Great entry!

It's very cute. I love the Eames chairs, but I think the rug under the table is much too small.

they're all starting to look somewhat alike! but this place looks great. love the light in there. the colors totally work. the lamp vs. a pendent chandelier is great. agree that the rug is too small and maybe the colors are too matchy matchy with the chairs as well. my favorite thing is the way the dresser looks in the bedroom. super nice. what are the wall colors, including the yellow?

and the place really has great bones. the ceiling in that one room is super and the brick wall with the little window is great. too bad you rent and don't own!

Nice, crisp, colorful, cool. I would request that they allow more than five pictures next year; it's just not enough to satisfy the full curiosity. I want to know how the landing strip in this house is handled.

beautiful place, the colors are just right. very inviting.

i have to say though, the first thing i noticed was that the rug under the table is much to small for the area. are those flor tiles? if so, it would be such an easy fix if you have the extra cash!

this is only the second apt. i've voted "super cool" for. :)

oh! and one more thing- the red stool next to the stove made me smile. my dad got the same chair (in red, too!) from my grandpa when he died, and i already told my parents that i have dibs on it when they are gone. ha!

Hi. Thanks for the great comments. I also wanted to mention that this is not just the Emmy pad. I happily share this turkey apartment with Kirk, the cutest boy in the world. Answers to your questions are below:

is that a giant turkey next to the floorplan??
Yes

what's with the turkey?!
It's for kicks

what are the wall colors, including the yellow?
Parker Pain: green/bedroom=Grazing, blue/living room=Virgin Robe and yellow/entry=Connacher

Would you mind sharing the contact info for the building?
We've got a great apartment in a hit or miss building. You should check it out. 206 709-9266.

Could you tell us about the painting in the bedroom?
The painting is dear to us, made by our friend, and Kirk's band mate, David Nixon, Diphtheria Girl. 36"x22", acrylic on wood. March 2007. http://www.docnixon.com/

kitchen table! Would you mind sharing where you got it?
We got it at the always great Area 51. The Stockton Dining Table.

which brand of (ipod dock?) is that in your bedroom?
It is the Apple Hi-Fi without the speaker cover (I don't think they make this one anymore, but the sound is great and I recommend it if you can find a used or a refurbished one.

i really, really like the dresser.

the colors are great. those new eames chairs make me cringe a little because the quality (compared to a vintage fiberglass shell) is so low.

other than that- i'm way into this place.

I love it! I gave it a super cool, because it looks original and lived in! (nothing you own looks like it came straight from trendy catalog and sat in your home unused.)

I love your use of color and how there was so much contrast and interplay. Each room, bled into the other and there was a cohesion to the entire space, through the use of color and small colorful objects d' art. I hope to see you in the finals!

This apartment is one of the most consistent within itself in a good way, which is very well-placed color and clear function and some interesting touches that are effortlessly individual. I really like this a LOT. I'm calling this super cool.

Last night I couldn't exactly characterize what it is I like about the color scheme, but this morning it occurs to me that the golden color and the green and the red all remind me of different colors of apples, and apples are good for you and pretty and colorful, and yet natural.

I think it was something about how that green dining chair among the red dining chairs that really made me think about a bowl full of apples. And then the rug underneath it really reinforces and grounds that whole idea.

I wonder if other people are feeling that, but not realizing that that's why they like it? It seems like that helps make the whole place work nicely together. This really is "delicious".

Love your use of color and the mix of chairs around the table.

Ditto that the rug is too small for the space but great otherwise. Perhaps you could extend it with a wide border?

I too want to know more about the painting in your bedroom.

Also, do the stripes really go two different ways on your duvet? I think I'd like it better if they only went lengthwise.
