Who was your favorite entry and why?
Southwest #22: LouLou & Nico’s Duplex Deluxe is absolutely my favorite. Somehow they’ve been able to create space that conveys passion (must be all that red!), but is also very calm and inviting. It takes skill to create that kind of balance. Plus, it strikes me that everything in their home was chosen with care, which is something I greatly admire.
What's your next improvement?
It never ends, does it? I feel pretty good about my space because in the past year I’ve been able to finally and completely address all my storage needs. But now there are some lighting issues to fix…a couple of sets of track lighting that have got to go! A dramatic light fixture dropping down from the high ceiling is definitely on my list. I’d also like to change the counter in my kitchen, but first I need to find a good home/use for the existing counter because I don’t want it to end up in the landfill.
Mozz and those shoes =

Simone! If you're reading this, where did that yummy tea kettle come from?

Someone else has as many pairs of shoes as I do! Love the Stones pictures on the fridge (I have a framed Stones poster in my kitchen). Nice pics, nice place; it all looks terrific.

hi Simone, glad to see you made it into the finals!
You know, if you're really keen on changing out your counters, but don't want to contribute to the landfill you could donate your counter top to Habitat for Humanity. They have stores where they sell reclaimed building supplies. The stores are called ReStore. Maybe you'll even find a new counter there?? ReStores in Vancouver are located in South Van (near Marine Dr) and also in Burnaby/Coquitlam area.

Simone--Thanks for the props. We love your space too! (Nico is Quebecois, and I grew up in Seattle, so maybe there is a "canadian-pacific-northwest" aesthetic we share :)
If you're in L.A., come on over!
love,

You show that you have stuff- shoes, books, etc.- but it is beautifully stored and flows with the house. Great job!

Thanks for the very kind comments everyone.
Squidlette, if you mean the red kettle, then it's a Le Creuset, and you can find it as Williams Sonoma (and lots of other places, too).
Monkeypants, thank you for the excellent solution to my dilemna. I will definitely do that.
Thanks Loulou & Nico! Same here...if you are ever in Vancouver, I'd be delighted to have you over for tea!

(Thank you! I never think of Le Creuset for kettles, but now I might have to!)
