Custom Furniture From Linden Street Designs

If you drink good coffee in San Francisco, chances are you've drunk it while sitting on (or at) a piece of furniture by Tad Longmaid of Linden Street Designs. Longmaid has created custom pieces for both Ritual Roasters and Blue Bottle, two of SF's top coffee spots. And while we love the caffeine fix, the furniture is what really gets our hearts beating fast...

Linden Street's designs are gorgeously simple; tabletops often consist of a single sumptuous slab of wood, inlaid with carefully carved geometric detail to disguise or repair cracks and rotten spots. An LED lamp is a block of frosty resin glowing atop a sleek walnut base. The bar stools designed for Ritual Coffee Roasters have a subtly concave seat, making them so much more comfortable than a typical cushion-less stool.

Designer Longmaid works with clients to develop a collaborative idea of what the end product will be. If you're going to invest in a custom piece, this local studio is certainly worth a long look. Check out Linden Street's portfolio for more examples of their work. They've also got an extensive Flickr gallery.
