Mother of Pearl Furniture at Bae

10-22-08mptable.jpgWe're big fans of Bae. Whenever we're on Sacramento Street we make an extra effort to take a look at what they're currently selling. The latest items to catch our eye? The Mother of Pearl furniture.

10-22-08mbsie.jpgThe side table is 20"l x 20"d x 20"h and $1,200.00. The console table is 48"l x 18"d x 30"h and $3,500.

completely unnecessary on all levels. why can't the natural world just be left alone sometimes?

It's a shame this furniture line is so poorly designed considering what a precious material they used to construct it.

This would look nice in an Art Deco interior, but without abuse or it would quickly look gaudy.

This is a prime example of too much of a good thing. Yuck!

This is just too much! Mother of Pearl should be used as an accent, not for a whole piece of furniture. I really do not like how this looks.

I like mother of pearl as much as the next girl, but this is so unnecessary.

I think it would have been better as an inlay on an otherwise wood table. This seems gaudy, but wonder how it looks in real.

I'd like to see the facade of a huge shopping mall in Mother of Pearl.

Not really. I just wanted to take it to further extremes. 8^)

I like the way this looks. Not so much the pricetag though! Would work in either a super-luxe room or a very sleek minimalistic look as an accent. I also like the style, this would be horrible, if the shape would be more complex.

In defense of this post! Iiiii liiike iiit.

The company that makes this also does it in a much more tasteful "Penn Shell", which is very dark browns and golds.
