Three Creative Cutout Coffee Tables on Etsy

We're in the market for a new coffee table, and spotted these on Etsy. While we need one with the surface completely open and intact, we thought we'd share these finds with those of you who can afford the space to make a statement.

mm...it'd be nice to have that kind of room, sadly i do not. though if the table of continents didn't have such a wide gap on the lower left edge, i would totally cover the whole thing with glass!

ugh. why are coffee tables so expensive?!? even the fancy ones are just a piece of wood or glass and legs.

everyone i want is $600 ...or is lucite and will be covered in scratches and dog hair in < 5 minutes

it's hard to look at it as in invest piece since i know we'll just use it to prop our legs and spill beer on while playing wii.

i guess in just need to suck it up and pick on up at ikea....boo.

Oh man, the bench with holes is beautiful. I've been looking for something like that (not as long, but with those legs, and the holes aren't necessary though they really make this one awesome) and I was hoping etsy meant it was affordable. Not to be! But now I'm inspired to keep looking. My backup plan is to finish a nice plain piece of hardwood and attach some natural steel hairpin legs, but I prefer the legs on that bench.

I love the Fizz table. So nice!
It's so nice in fact that I'm not even going to look at the price. I know i'll only be dissapointed.

When purchasing something like the Fizz table from Cameron VanDyke you have to consider what you are paying for before you complain about the price. It is a shame that we live in a society that has become so accustomed to purchasing disposible products. I would like to see someone get a custom sized Ikea table like that.

I happen to be an aquintance of Camerons and know his potential. He hand selects every piece of wood he puts into his furniture, he welds his own table legs and never gives himself enough credit for the quality workmanship and endless amounts of hours he puts into a piece like that. The price that he is asking for it may seem like a lot of money for some, however you must ask yourself what you are worth on an hourly basis and then consider the fact that he probably has over 20 hours of labor into everything plus the materials.

Check out his website at www.cameronvandyke.com

There are some examples of his work and also his contact info, in case you would want to have a custom size Fizz table made.

I actually use my coffee table to set things down on, like a drink or to set down books and magazines. While I appreciate the asthetic of these, they lack the function I need for day to day living.
