We must have been inspired by this post earlier this week, but geodes have us charmed. This a-ha use of agate geodes as candleholders strikes us as magical.

At first I thought it this idea was cool and earthy. But if you ever decide to burn those candles, I think the wax would drip into the geodes and ruin the "magic" of it all.

i think i like geodes best without anything being stuck in them.

I agree with verhext - they'd do better left alone, would be very messy with candle wax.

I thought they were chocolate rolled in nuts...I had to look closer.
I wouldn't put candles in them...they would be ruined.

If they were dispalyed on thier sides, a glass votive sitting next to them would help show off their magic better. I agree with the others that a candle in them would probably be a mess to clean.

The only way I can think of to make this work would be to pour cold water into the holes in the geodes so that the wax wouldn't stick there. Looks like a mess to me, otherwise.

They're just so beautiful by themselves.

I agree that they are best as their own beautiful selves;
plus, my first thought was "1972 called and wants it's candle holder back, the lava lamp misses it"

what about when the wax runs down and mutilates the crystals?
also, burning candle wax is full of carcinogens. use soy candles. clean burning, eco-friendly.
