Eggshell Bowls

1-17-eggshell.jpgA couple of days ago, we visited Anthropologie so that we could check out the Ellipse Mugs that Lisa wrote about recently.

And while the mugs were indeed beautiful, we were also drawn to the Eggshell Bowls. The porcelain bowls are really delicate and lovely, with matte exteriors and glazed interiors. Their shapes are organic, a little imperfect. While the store had them displayed holding tiny plants, we pictured them as salt cellars at a dinner party, or perhaps holding tealight candles or jewelry. They'd also be eye-catching just displayed in a trio on a shelf or sideboard or window ledge.

Online they're available in a set of six assorted colors (dark grey, light grey, blue, green, and two white), for $24. They're $4 each, in dark grey, blue, and green, in the store.

Thanks Leslie for the heads up about these bowls - they are just the sort of thing I love but can never find at a decent price. As I think of Anthropologie as being a women's clothing store, I never would have stumbled across these if not for your post. I picked up 4 each of the light gray, dark gray, and ivory. (The store also had the blue and green but none of the other white...). The sticker on the bottom of the bowl says dishwasher and microwave safe so I am assuming that means food safe as well. I plan to use them as tea cups.
