Perle is actually a very practical and clever design, we're surprised we haven't seen it before: the string of 28 3cm white porcelain beads bends into different shapes (circle, noose or a figure 8) to protect table and counter surfaces from hot pots in a whole variety of sizes and shapes.

Perhaps most importantly though, the Perle Hot Plate will bring some light-hearted Bedrock style to your table.

The fact that the "pearls" are rather large, coupled with the fact that the hot plate can be configured in various ways is way cool. I use silicone potholders at a lower price point (http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=686&f=23643&viewall=1) but I can dream, can't I?
