Some spaces are really, really, really small — and yet, thanks to the brilliance of their residents, they're still packed with gorgeous design and storage solutions.

The 20 homes that make up the second round of the 2022 Small/Cool Contest are all 1,000 square feet or fewer — and positively packed with beautiful decor and genius ideas.

Whether through paint or decor, color adds a ton of inspiration to one's home, and the rooms in this year's Small/Cool event space had a few surprising applications worthy of a decor deep dive.
