The Gallery: Jason Forman

Even when he was working as a software consultant in Chicago, Jason Forman didn't forget his love of photography. After several years working and traveling, he decided that he wanted to give photography a run as a career. He moved to San Francisco, went back to school at Academy of Art University, and got a degree in Photography.

Jason has worked for a few photographers, as well as at Wired Magazine in their Photo Department.

He now works full time in photography, doing photo producing for a photographer and some post-production for a few others. He also does his own photography part time.

When asked about his inspiration, Jason says, I think it is the amazing simple things or scenes that people don't notice on a day-to-day basis. I really love taking notice of such scenarios and presenting them in a way that is interesting. Walker Evans is my inspiration as a photographer. He had a wonderful eye for composition, subtlety, and taking notice of ordinary things and making them beautiful.

Love that first sign and sky. The rest don't quite have the same impact on me.

These are not ordinary things...we may take them for granted or assign them to the ordinary but the photos are beautiful. The photo of the little boy is an updated Saturday Evening Post
