You may remember the house tour we did of
Lisa's Colorful Mission Abode. It was easy to guess from just seeing her bold and graphic apartment that she's an artist.
Lisa's work, like her home, is bold and graphic. She works in several mediums, including paper collage, wood, screen-printing, ink on paper, textiles and paint.
She's self-taught. As her bio says on her website,
She uses her lack of training to her advantage; instead of relying on refined technique, she uses her own raw sense of what looks aesthetically pleasing as her guide.
Lisa's another San Francisco artist with a fan club. She's well-known in the craft world, too, and has been interviewed on
Crafty Synergy,
Kraf-o-La, and
decor8.
She's currently showing at
the Big Little Show in Calgary, Canada.
You can see Lisa's work in a solo show in February at
The Reform School in Los Angeles, in April at a solo show at
Rare Device in Brooklyn, and in May at a joint show with her sister
Stephanie at
Doe in San Francisco.
It's also sold on her
website.
Lisa is an amazing artist and so very inspiring!
Hi Leslie!
It's Holly. The link above appears to be broken, so for Lisa's benefit (and your readers), click on my name below for the interview link.
Lisa is so talented, I'm so happy you've posted about her work as an artist - and what an adorable space she lives in. I'm glad you posted the link to her home, I missed that the first time around.
Holly
I admire Lisa and love her work. Lisa you inspire me.
