Harrington Bros Inc Moving & Storage... we've never actually used them for moving or storage, only for their 35,000+ sq. ft. warehouse space that seems to always be jam packed with used furniture and the like. In the past we've scored: lampshades, an area rug, office chairs, and kitschy art. Eclectic would be the best way to describe what you'll be seeing upon entering...

We absolutely fell in love with this blue velvet sofa. It was in flawless condition. The price tag? $795.

In addition to their vast inventory of used furniture and art, Harrington's also has a great selection of milk glass, like these hobnail pieces we spotted over the weekend.

You wouldn't know it by looking around the first floor, but Harrington's has two additional floors. Make sure you ask the sales people there how to get up there (the staircase is semi-hidden in the back). Upstairs you'll find tons of furniture.

Our only gripe? The prices. We feel like more often than not they are a bit steep.

I found some great, used, white bookcases that were WAY overpriced (but I bought them anyway.) I love this store, but the owner (Mr. Harrington, perhaps?) is so unbelievably mean to his employees infront of his costomers, I almost walked out. I know how many little treasures are hidden in the second and third floors, but it's hard for me to go in there anymore because I am so uncomfortable around the owner.

This place is way overpriced, most of the stuff is junk, and the owners are nasty, troubled people. I went in there to look many times over the years and finally said no more. I honestly don't know how they have stayed in business all these years.

I almost bought a dresser there despite the broken marble top (it was gorgeous!) but the drawers were split almost beyond repair and the owner kept trying to push me into it any saying "I could sell this for $1,900 today if I wanted". I grew up with antiques and a mother who dealt in them - the $250 he was offering it for was too much for the condition.

Is anyone else creeped out by the fact that the owners have a moving and storage company AND a used furniture store? What's to say that they're not also selling the stuff they're supposed to move for you.

One time last summer, my husband and I were going to go into this store and they started closing up and locking the doors as were about to walk in during regular business hours. I asked "aren't you open now?" and they looked at us and laughed and said "well we've decided to close up" or something to that effect but they said it in a manner that indicated they could care less about me as a customer. They were so rude and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience.
