We can't believe it. How is it possible that we've gone this long without blogging about the Mission District's two Therapy stores?

While one shop carries mostly clothing and gift items, the neigboring storefront offers affordable furniture, pillows, artwork, rugs and various tabletop accessories. We're especially impressed by their great selection of small-scale sofas. You can custom-order the style, size and fabric that best suits your home. On a recent visit, we spotted a number of sofas in the under-$1000 range.

(Psst ... In the upper-right corner of the photo above, you can see the flower blossom lights that AT readers have asked about in the past.)

We've had good customer service experiences here, too. Our only gripe? They don't have a website.

In addition to San Francisco's Mission District, Therapy also has stores in Burlingame (264 Lorton Avenue) and Mountain View (250 Castro Street).

My sofa is from Therapy and I LOVE it-- the sofas are very reasonably priced and they have GREAT customer service. My sofa has upholstery buttons on the seat and back and when I forst took it home they were too loose-- they would catch on my clothes as I slid around on the sofa. I thought it was my fault for ordering a sofa with buttons on the seat, even though I liked the look. However, when I went back to the store to ask about getting a new bottom cushion with no buttons, they suggested tightening the buttons instead. I brought the cushions back in and the problem was solved in an hour at no charge! It was so friendly and no-hassle-- I'd order furniture from them again in a heartbeat
