I don't like it one bit but, if you're going to go that route, the entire kitchen needs to be more glammed up -black granite countertop, jewel-toned cabinets, etc. Then I'd respect it as a strong statement.

It's a little over the top but it amuses me. I'd like to see something similar done in a more limited pallette to let the texture be the statement. It would be an interesting way to use found/recycled materials like tumbled glass.

I love the idea! I'm pretending the color choices were better and voting Hot! It would be really really cool if they'd picked mostly neutrals (to match the cabinets and countertop) with an accent color. Done in golds and greens this would be stunning.

Kudos to the owner for trying to be unique, but please hand her a pair of special help-me-coordinate-colors goggles. Just plain silver baubles would have been more than enough for a dramatic effect without the level of tackiness this atrocity exudes.

I like the pattern and texture, but it would look much better with softer colors that complemented the cabinets. A range of whites and taupes would have fit in, mixed in with muted blues and greens to make it look like water, or muted reds and oranges to make it it look like fire coming off of the stove.

It's a shiny mosaic. I disagree with the suggestions of "all out." It would look super-disco-fugly in a sleek black lacquer kitchen. Maybe the wood is the wrong color or shape, but it needs to find the right countertop and cabinet mates for a delicate beaded bohemian look.

I love it. The amount of detail pulls you in to examine it so you don't even notice the surroundings, which is the point of ART, right? It's in an unexpected place and took a LOT of time to create, it definitely gets two thumbs up. It's just too bad they can't take it with them if they move!!

I really *want* to like it. The colors and the materials appeal to a Stevie Nicks/Enya/Cocteau Twins/belly-dance costume aesthetic I kinda favored in the 90s, but I can't figure where the heck I'd be willing to see it in my home. Ever.
Oh, and it COMPLETELY fails in combination with the counters and cabinets, but they're rather "meh" anyhow. Wonder what the rest of the home looks like.
