I like that they're made from salvaged wood!
It gives such an interesting look to furniture and other wood items.

I live in Portland, Oregon. Here there is a place I go to occasionally which is a basically a warehouse full of reclaimed wood and other building materials taken from homes that are "deconstructed" (as opposed to being bulldozed).
