Top Ten: Sources for Architectural Salvage

2007_03_01_eden_17.jpgInspired by these rough-hewn display shelves made from salvaged wood and spotted on our recent visit to Eden and Eden, we went on a hunt for architectural and materials salvage resources in the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest.

Our list is after the jump. Please add to it if you know of others! (Portland anyone?)

Driftwood Salvage, in E. Palo Alto. They hold home deconstructions on houses scheduled for demo. All fixtures, wood, etc. go for great prices. Sometimes kitchen cabinets, doors, windows, plants, appliances. Also have a warehouse.

In the Puget Sound region Second Use Building Materials, Inc. in Seattle is the largest & most organized salvage yard.
They partner with Habitat For Humanity, and have their inventory searchable online! www.seconduse.com
